Japanese media covers Party chief’s visit

(VOVworld) - Japanese newspapers, The Daily Yomiuri, Kyodo News, and Japan Times, ran articles highlighting Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s official visit to Japan on Tuesday.

The bilateral friendship and Japan’s assistance to Vietnam were prominently featured in the articles. The two leaders committed to intensifying economic and security ties, particularly Abe’s pledge to provide an additional 835 million USD to Vietnam to help Vietnam develop infrastructure projects. Japan vowed to provide two more patrol ships to strengthen law enforcement in the East Sea. According to the articles, to boost their extensive strategic partnership, Vietnam and Japan agreed to intensify collaboration in agriculture. Vietnam promised to open its market to Japanese apples in exchange for making Vietnamese mangos available to Japanese consumers. The two sides also agreed to work together towards the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
