(VOVworld) – The Japanese public have welcomed Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit as an important event for bilateral relations.

At a press conference to announce the visit, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga underscored the significance of the visit.

Motoyoshi Ryoikichi, Secretary General of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association, said that “the visit coincides with Vietnam’s celebration of its National Day and 40 years of national reunification in a context of bilateral relations enjoying fine development in all fields. Currently the people-to-people exchange is at its best and an increasing number of Vietnamese are living and studying in Japan. I hope that the Party chief’s visit will contribute to the exchanges of the two peoples and to global peace and stability.”
