Japan’s media highlights Vietnamese, Japanese Prime Ministers’ talks

(VOVWORLD) -The talks between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made the headlines in major newspapers in Japan.

The web portal of the Japanese government quoted Mr. Abe as saying that the good bilateral relationship has been reflected in politics, economics, culture, sports, and people to people exchange. Japan’s Foreign Ministry posted on its website the content of the talks and the joint statement.

Sankei newspaper wrote that the Prime Ministers discussed measures to push ahead the Trans-Pacific Partnership. It quoted the joint statement affirming Vietnam-Japan practical relations in many fields. The Yomiuri newspaper quoted the joint statement’s call for peaceful measures to resolve disputes based on international law. Japan Today wrote that the Vietnamese and Japanese leaders agreed to strengthen security and defense cooperation and work together in UN peacekeeping activities.
