(VOVworld) – Laos’ Vice President Bounnhang Volachit has hailed the significance of the April 30^th victory, calling it a victory of Laotian and Cambodian people as well. Mr. Volachit, who is in Hanoi to attend the 40^th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification, was welcomed Thursday by Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

The two leaders reviewed the special solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, governments, and people, which is developing strongly in all fields. They agreed on continuing to closely cooperate with other ASEAN members for a successful establishment of an ASEAN Community by the end of 2015, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region. Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan said that Vietnam will support Laos in assuming ASEAN presidency in 2016.
