Deputies recommended that SMEs be provided with easier access to credit loans and acquisition of production sites.

“We are calling for more investment in agriculture and rural development. Establishing high-tech agriculture zones are essential for a farming-based country like Vietnam. This idea should be included in the draft law,” said Vo Thi Nhu Hoa, a deputy from Da Nang city.

Lawmakers are scheduled to vote on the bill on June 12.

The current National Assembly session is capturing the particular interest of voters. While praising encouraging socio-economic progress, some voters said they expect the legislature to introduce a resolution on settling bad debt.

“Bad debt must be resolved across the board, from legislation, and capital sources to devising a roadmap. It’s unacceptable to use the state budget to settle billions of USD in bad debt. We also need to fix flaws in management and governance to deal with this problem more effectively,” economist Cao Sy Kiem suggested.
