(VOVworld)-Top Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem became the champion of the HDBank International Open Chess tournament 2017 which closed in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday.

This is the third time Le Quang Liem  has won the HDBank International Open Chess tournament

25-year-old Liem was crowned champion after beating Bogdanovic Stanislav from Ukraine and won a prize worth 13,000 USD. Two Vietnamese players Nguyen Anh Khoi and Nguyen Huynh Tuan Hai were presented the excellent young award and topped the Challengers’ table.

The tournament drew 240 chess players from 25 countries and territories including Russia, Bulgaria, China, Ukraine, Germany, and India.
