Legislators discuss bills on education, cyber security

(VOVWORLD) - Legislators on Tuesday discussed bills on education and cyber security at the ongoing National Assembly session.

Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha presented a draft law amending the Law on Education. He said that in 12 years of implementation, the Law on Education has generated positive changes in the national education system. There are full-time and continuing education for kindergarten, primary and secondary school, vocational training, and university education, he said, adding that Vietnam completed secondary education universalization in 2010 and kindergarten education universalization for 5-year-old children in 2017. Teaching staff and education administrators have been growing in quantity and quality. School infrastructure and equipment has been modernized. 

 “After 12 years, the Law on Education has revealed some limitations," Mr. Nha said, "Revising the law institutionalizes the Party’s resolution on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training and meets the practical demands of development and integration.”

Legislators discussed the draft Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, the revised Law on Amnesty, and some controversial issues concerning the draft Law on Cyber-security.
