Malaysia MH370 went missing before entering Vietnam’s flight control zone

Head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Lai Xuan Thanh, told reporters that the information was misleading and there was no evidence on the airplane entering Vietnam’s fly zone: “The plane went off radar before passing Vietnam’s Igari navigational waypoint. Air traffic controllers from both sides coordinated the transfer time of 17:22 but the airplane lost its radar signal on Ho Chi Minh Air Control Center at 17:20:43. Transfer was not completed because the crew did not have any contact with Ho Chi Minh ACC. Malaysia aviation authority also noted the final radar signal by the airplane was before 17:22, where it was on Singapore’s flight information region and authorized by Singapore to Malaysia’s administration. Vietnam has not received and navigated the airplane.”
Commenting on Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation’s allegation that Vietnam was 12 minutes late in communicating the radar signal loss, Mr Thanh said it did not affect the searching effort because Malaysia only began searching effort 4 hours later than official communication from Ho Chi Minh ACC.
