Malaysia-Vietnam bilateral trade surges

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam and Malaysia recorded a two-way trade value of over 3.9 billion USD in the first five months of the year, a year-on-year increase of about 28 percent.

The Vietnamese Trade Office in Malaysia said Vietnam’s exports hit 1.7 billion USD, while its imports were 2.2 billion USD.

Malaysia is the 8th largest trade partner of Vietnam, accounting for 2.4 percent of the market share, after China, the Republic of Korea, the US, the European Union, Japan, Taiwan (China) and Thailand. Bilateral trade turnover is projected at about 9.5 billion USD this year.
