(VOVworld)- Vietnam always attaches importance to consolidating and boosting ties with Maldives, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives Phan Kieu Thu as she presented her credentials to President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen. Thu proposed that the two countries enhance cooperation for their people’s interests, and for regional and world peace, stability, and prosperity. President Abdulla Yameen hailed the Vietnam-Maldives relationship and talked of measures to boost cooperation, especially as Vietnam and Maldives mark the 40^th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2015. They agreed to soon establish bilateral cooperative mechanisms including a political consultative mechanism at the general director level.
