Member of the US House of Representatives visits Vietnam

Robert Earl Filner, a member of the US House of Representatives, on Monday worked with the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange /dioxin to learn about the life of local victims.  Association’s President Nguyen Van Rinh expressed the gratitude for the support and valuable assistance of international friends, including people of the United States and Robert Earl Filner for Victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam over the years. In July 2011, he submitted the Victims of Agent Orange Relief Act to Congress. Vietnam hopes that this humanitarian law will be passed so that the Agent Orange victims in Vietnam and the victims in the United States can be entitled to adequate compensation. Robert Earl Filner said that the US has the responsibility to help Agent Orange victims. Before Monday’s working in Hanoi, Filner visited in Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ngai and Danang city, besides working with local authorities, Filner has visited many Agent Orange dioxin victims’ families.
