(VOVworld) – Election campaigns began Sunday in 12 Mexican states. At stake are 1,304 seats in local government and 12 state governorship. There will not be an election in the state of Baja California and Mexico City. The ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and its ally, the Ecological Green Party of Mexico, will run in all states. The PRI will also ally with the New Alliance (PANAL) party in all states except Puebla.The National Action Party (PAN) and the Party of the Democratic Revolution will compete with the PRI in nine states.
