More condolences sent over President Tran Dai Quang’s passing

(VOVWORLD) - World leaders continue to send condolences to the Vietnamese Party, State, government and people over President Tran Dai Quang’s passing.

 Letters of condolence were sent by the leaders of Brunei, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, ASEAN, Venezuela, Bangladesh, Brazil, Mongolia, Mozambique, Morocco, Qatar, and the UAE.  

The assemblies of the member states of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) held a minute’s silence on Monday in memory of President Quang. WIPO Director General Francis Gurry announced the death of the Vietnamese head of State and extended condolences to the President’s family, and the Government and people of Vietnam.

Ambassador Duong Chi Dung, head of Vietnam’s permanent mission to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva and Chairman of the WIPO Assemblies for 2018-2019, expressed thanks to international friends for their condolences for President Quang. Mr. Dung called Quang’s passing a great loss for Vietnam and its friends all over the world.
