The Vietnam Fatherland Front and Vietnam Television have held a TV show to encourage donation for the poor. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung was addressing the event on Saturday night: We welcome and thank people at home and abroad as well as businesses for their response to the Day for the Poor, national unity and construction. I wish the movement will gain more results in the New Year.”

 Donations worth 6.6 trillion VND or 314 million USD have been registered at the event to support the poor.
