The draft law aims to ensure that planning related regulations scattered in 37 laws will be compatible with the Law on Planning, which is scheduled to come into force at the beginning of next year. Laws that are being suggested for amendments include the Law on Chemicals, the Law on Electricity, and the Law on Food Safety.

"The Law on Planning is considered a revolution in planning activities by eliminating planning on commodities, products, and services that are no longer suitable with the market economy. It significantly reduces the number of plannings from 19,000 to around 300. The law helps avoid overlaps in planning and wastefulness in national resources’ allocation and distribution," said Deputy Phung Van Hung of Cao Bang province.
