The Assembly’s Committee for Financial and Budgetary Affairs warned of an overlap between the inspection and state audit sectors and called for their closer coordination.

Le Thi Nga, head of the Committee for Judicial Affairs urged for better conditions for the state audit’s activities. She said: "It’s necessary to enable the state audit to impose administrative fines. The court has the authority to impose administrative fines at the court, so do other agencies. That’s why the state audit must be entitled to slap administrative fines.”

National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu said Vietnam now has various channels to control audit such as the Party inspection agency, which help boost democracy.
