National Assembly Chairwoman to attend Fidel Castro’s funeral

(VOVworld) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on Monday left for Cuba to attend the State funeral for the Cuban leader Fidel Castro, who passed away on Friday in Havana.

Ms. Ngan is accompanied by Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Duong Minh, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Office Le Quang Vinh and other senior officials. The national mourning for Mr. Castro will run for 9 days until December 4. Fidel Castro was born on August 13, 1926. He was former First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, and former Chairman of the State Council and Council of Ministers. Mr. Fidel Castro, a great friend of Vietnam, led international movements on supporting Vietnamese people’s just struggle for national independence and unification in the past and socialism construction at present.
