(VOVworld) - National Assembly deputies have denounced China’s ramming and sinking a Vietnamese fishing boat, saying that it was a serious act threatening life and property of Vietnamese fishermen. Nguyen Van Hien, a deputy from Ba Ria Vung Tau province, said China must compensate Vietnamese victims: “China’s act was a severe violation of Vietnam’s national sovereignty and its jurisdiction rights on Vietnam’s special economic zone and continental shelf. Any property losses caused by the act have to be compensated.”
