(VOVworld) – National Assembly deputies discussed revisions to the Penal Code on Tuesday. According to the government report, the draft proposes 87 new articles, revises 370, and abolishes 8 with the aim of protecting and promoting the development of the socialist-oriented market economy, preventing crime, and promoting human and citizens’ rights. The draft also proposes dropping the death sentence on 7 charges. The deputies also discussed revisions to the Criminal Procedure Code.
