National Assembly opens 5th session

(VOVWORLD) -The 14th National Assembly opens its 5th session on Monday in Hanoi and the opening ceremony is broadcast live on national radio and TV. 
 

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will deliver a key note speech to open the session. Then deputies listen to reports evaluating implementation of socio-economic development and state budget plans for 2017 and early 2018. They also listen to reports summarizing voters’ recommendations and verifying the government’s reports on socio-economic and state budget performance. Lawmakers are expected to pass 8 bills and one draft resolution, and discuss 8 other draft laws. For the first time, the meeting will see an immediate Q&A session. Lawmakers will make questions for no more than one minute each and the respondents must answer immediately for no more than 3 minutes.
