National Assembly’s Ethnic Council convenes 6th plenary session
(VOVWORLD) -The 6th plenary session of the National Assembly’s Ethnic Council opened in Hanoi Thursday to discuss a report on the Council’s socio-economic accomplishments in 2017 and the first quarter of this year as well as tasks and state budget for ethnic communities and mountain areas for the rest of the year.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong told the meeting that the Party and State pays special attention to ethnic policy. She appreciated the Council and localities in implementing the Party and the National Assembly’s resolutions.
She asked ministries, sectors, and localities to improve monitoring of budgets and investment for ethnic groups and reinforce security in the Northwest, Central Highlands, and Southwest regions.
