The NATO chief attended a meeting of Ukraine's national security and defense council on Tuesday after visiting to a military training area in western Ukraine. Ukraine, the US, EU and NATO have repeatedly accused Russia of supporting separatist forces with arms and troops, allegations Moscow denies. To ease the concerns of Baltic states and Poland, NATO increased military presence in border areas with Russia. According to a Ukrainian top security official, Stoltenberg’s visit clearly demonstrates NATO’s policy of the last two years.
