The research diving trip made by a British Cave Research Association’s team, who were members of the rescue team saving the Thai football team trapped in Thailand's Tham Luang Cave last year.

The trip was expected to prove that the passage connected Son Doong and the Thung Cave, which is a cave of the same type laying 600m away. The divers said they have gone down further 500m the actual depth of the tunnel could be more. They couldn’t go further due to the failure of equipment.

So far, more than 350 caves have been discovered in Phong Nha-Ke Bang national park and 20 caves in adjacent areas.
