(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has chaired a meeting to review the movement on new rural area building. He said agriculture, rural areas and farmers hold strategic positions in national construction and defense.

The Prime Minister said agricultural development, new rural area building and farmers’ living standards improvement are constant political tasks of the Party, State and people: “Over the next 5 years, provincial leaders must be fully aware of the Party resolution on agriculture, rural areas and farmers, especially the new rural area building. Difficulties must be identified for early settlement while positive examples must be duplicated.”
The Prime Minister said that the new rural area building activities must be included in the agenda of Party congresses at all levels. Provinces must review their policy on technological application in agricultural production. He expected another 15 trillion dong of investment to build new rural areas in the next 2 years.
