After their meeting in Paris on Thursday, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said the warring parties in eastern Ukraine haven’t fully abided by the Minsk ceasefire, accusing the Kiev government of having impeded the agreement’s implementation.
Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said Kiev regard the leaders of self-proclaimed People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk as military commanders, but not the representatives of the people there, adding that there is no point in negotiating with them.
The European Parliament passed a bill to loan Ukraine 1.8 billion EUR, which is from EU global bonds, to help Ukraine maintain its short-term balance of payments. The European Parliament said the loan is sending a strong political message that the EU will always stand side by side with the Kiev government.
