Northern Vietnam Agriculture and Handicrafts Fair opened

(VOVworld)-The 2012 Northern Vietnam Agriculture and Handicrafts Fair is underway in Hanoi. On display at some 200 pavilions are a wide range of agricultural products typical for each locality such as tea, honey, and fresh and processed fruits, along with wide diversity of handicraft and fine arts products from traditional villages,  including stone ornaments, products made of rattan and sedge, and high quality ceramic and silk products. Addressing the event, Dao Van Ho, Director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre, said: “Agricultural trade promotion activities are needed in order to expand the domestic market and export market, boost the growth of agricultural and handicraft products, and contributed to the industrialization and modernization of rural areas. The organizing board hopes that this trade fair will serve as a bridge connecting producers and traders, and also aims to honor traditional craft villages, their products, and their craftsmen for preserving and promoting our national identity.”

The Fair, which opens yesterday, will last until October 1st.
