(VOVworld) - The Palestinian unity government formed last year resigned on Wednesday, an official said.

Nimr Hammad, an adviser to President Mahmoud Abbas, told reporters that Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah handed his resignation to Abbas at a meeting of Fatah party´s Revolutionary Council on Wednesday and Abbas ordered him to form a new government.
He added discussions to form a new government would include consultations with the various Palestinian factions, including Hamas.
