Palestinian mission in Washington closes
(VOVWORLD) - Palestine's diplomatic mission in the US closed down on Thursday following a demand by the US intended to pressure the Palestinians to enter peace talks with Israel.

It was the latest point of contention between the administration of President Donald Trump and the Palestinians. Husam Zomlot, who headed the Palestine Liberation Organization mission, called the US demand “unfortunate and vindictive”.
Before ordering the mission's closure, the US cut more than 200 million USD in aid to the Palestinians and canceled its support for the UN agency aiding Palestinian refugees. Trump said the US will cut all aid until the Palestinian government agrees to return to the negotiating table.
