“Paris Agreement” square inaugurated

(VOVworld) – Former Vietnamese Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh and officials of Choisy-le-Roi city, France, cut a ribbon on Saturday inaugurating a square to be called “Paris Agreement Square”.

The event was part of the week-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam. Choisy-le-Roi received and provided assistance to the Vietnamese delegation during the 5-year negotiation process.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Binh reviewed the importance of the Paris Agreement and Choisy-le-Roi’s contributions to the success of the Vietnamese people. "40 years after the event, we are very happy to come back here in a new atmosphere but still full of enthusiasm, friendship, and loyalty. We’re moved by Choisy-le-Roi’s activities to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement."

Choisy-le-Roi’s mayor Daniel Davisse and Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Chi Dung stressed their determination to boost the two countries’ unity and friendship.
