During his visit, Mr. Binh had a meeting with Manisha Singh, US Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs. At the meeting, both sides agreed that the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership has seen fruitful results and has great potential. The two leaders discussed the US’s implementation of its Indo-Pacific Strategy and its impacts on the region and Vietnam. Ms. Singh affirmed that Vietnam is one of the US’s most important partners in the region.

A meeting with US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Karen Dunn Kelly discussed ways to boost bilateral investment and trade, making the US one of Vietnam’s top investors, particularly in energy, infrastructure, and advanced technology. Vietnam will import more US products from these industries.

During a working session with leaders of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Mr. Binh asked OPIC to increase technical support, extend investment projects in Vietnam, and help Vietnamese enterprises get access to the projects.

Mr. Binh also met with representatives of the US Chamber of Commerce and major US energy businesses like GE and AES.

The Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to meet US energy firms in Boston and California’s Silicon Valley.
