At the meeting, a representative of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission announced a decision by the Party Politburo and Secretariat on the establishment of the Steering Committee on Strategic Cadre Planning for the 2021-2026 tenure and the Committee’s Aide Group. Participants examined the Politburo’s final draft plan on strategic cadre planning before its issuance. The meeting approved a decision on the functions, tasks, authority, principles, and working methods of the steering committee and its aide group.

Party leader and State President Trong stressed the importance of cadre planning, particularly strategic cadre, relating to which he said the Party and State of Vietnam has adopted a lot of resolutions and directives. He added the planning of cadre is to prepare human resources for the 13^th National Party Congress and for national construction and defense in the new period.
