(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has praised Binh Duong province for its spirit of creativity, pro-activeness, unity, and democracy in implementing socio-economic tasks. The Party leader had a working session with provincial authorities on Saturday. He urged Binh Duong to pay more attention to sustainable development: "There are many factors relating to sustainable development. They are social issues, environmental protection, planning, land management, building new rural areas and safeguarding order and security. If we only pursue GDP growth without any specific foundation, sustainable development cannot be achieved".


Trong also asked the province to seek ways to solve the problem of population increase, while paying attention to human resources training and linkage with Ho Chi Minh City and other key areas.

Over the past 15 years, Binh Duong province has developed from a poor to an industrialized locality with industrial proportion reaching 62%, playing a key role in Southeastern region and the Southern key economic zone.
