(VOVworld) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met retired high ranking officials of the Party and State to discuss the current situation and the Party’s leadership over socio-economy, security, defense, and foreign relations. Mr. Trong said since the 12th National Party Congress, Vietnam has achieved major results, creating momentum for higher growth and consolidating the trust of Party members and the people. He urged for stronger will, solidarity, and consensus within the Party and among the public, as well as correct guidelines and policies for Vietnam to move forward. Party leader Trong reiterated that the entire Party, army, and people will resolutely defend national independence, sovereignty, and territories, and maintain political stability, and a peaceful environment for sustainable and rapid development.
