Pilots largely accountable for Vietnam Airlines flight landing on wrong runway

(VOVWORLD) -Initial investigation has found that the pilots were largely responsible for a Vietnam Airlines flight which landed on the wrong runway at Cam Ranh airport last week.

Flight VN7344 from Ho Chi Minh city to Nha Trang city touched down on a non-operational runway on Sunday. Fortunately, all 203 passengers and crew members were safe. The US citizen captain immediately reported the incident to Vietnam Airlines.

While further investigation is underway, the national flag carrier has thoroughly checked the operations of all airports in Vietnam to avoid a possible recurrence. Vietnam Airlines has apologized all passengers onboard flight VN7344 and reiterated its strong commitment to flight safety and information transparency.
