PM approves national remote sensing development strategy

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will master remote sensing satellite technology under a national remote sensing development strategy to 2030 with a vision to 2040 recently approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The strategy’s goal is to build stations to collect and handle a database of remote sensing photos in the service of socio-economic development and national defence and security.

By 2020, Vietnam hopes to perfect its remote sensing institutions, policies, laws, and technical standards, while enhancing relevant state management capacity.

Under the strategy, data management agencies will enhance coordination and information, data, and product sharing with related ministries, agencies, localities, organizations, and individuals.
