PM calls for inspection sector’s stronger determination to fight corruption
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has applauded the inspection sector’s contributions to the fight against corruption and called on the sector to promptly and strictly deal with corruption cases and retrieve corrupt assets without mercy.
At an online meeting of the inspection sector on Wednesday to review performance of 2018 and set out tasks for 2019, PM Phuc said: “More attention should be paid to fine-tuning the inspection apparatus, the regulations of inspection teams, and responsibilities of chief inspectors. An inspector must be incorruptible and set an example for others to follow suit. Internal oversight must be strengthened to create a healthy environment and solidarity.”
PM Phuc also urged the sector to address shortcomings in management and law enforcement and combine inspection activities with anti-corruption and settlement of citizens’ complaints and denunciation.
