PM Dung receives foreign ambassadors

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hosted separate receptions for the outgoing ambassador of China and new ambassadors from Thailand and Egypt on Tuesday.

PM Dung hailed Chinese Ambassador Kong Xuanyou’s contributions to boosting bilateral ties between Vietnam and China during his term in Vietnam. Dung expressed hope for close bilateral coordination to realise signed agreements, commence new co-operation programs, and boost cultural and people-to-people exchanges, thus enhancing mutual trust and understanding. He suggested that both sides adhere to guiding principles and international laws in the settlement of maritime issues, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC).
Welcoming Thai Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup, Dung praised the development of Vietnam-Thailand co-operation. He said he believes Thailand will soon stabilise its situation for the good of Thailand and the development and stability of the region.
At the reception for Egyptian ambassador Youssef Kamal Boutros Hanna, the Prime Minister said bilateral friendship and co-operation between Vietnam and Egypt is developing strongly in many fields, contributing to both countries’ development. Dung reiterated Vietnam attaches importance to Egypt’s role in the international arena and will do its best to boost bilateral ties. He also called for stronger mutual support in international forums, especially the UN.
