He made this statement at a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Phnom Penh during a trip to attend the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting. Phuc suggested further strengthening of economic trust and boosting two-way trade towards more balanced and healthy growth by facilitating the entry into China of Vietnamese agro-forestry-fisheries products. He also called for attention to reinforcing win-win collaboration in agriculture, the environment, climate change response, and science-technology.

He said that both sides should abide by high-level common perceptions and basic principles guiding the settlement of issues at sea and control disputes to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea while stepping up negotiations to reach an effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea.

Li said China is consistent in its policy of friendship with Vietnam and expressed his wish to nurture the stable and sustainable development of bilateral ties.
