PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives Thai Deputy PM

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese and Thai government leaders have expressed their pleasure over the fine development of their bilateral relations in politics, diplomacy, and the regular exchange of high-ranking delegations.

At a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday on the sidelines of the ongoing ACMECS 7 summit, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak also spoke highly of the expansion of cooperation among ministries, sectors, and provinces, tighter coordination in security and defense, economics, trade, and investment, which are all bringing more practical benefits for both countries.

The two leaders insisted that cooperative potential in economics, trade, and investment between the two nations remains high and both can reach the trade turnover target of 20 billion USD by 2020.

The two leaders agreed to continue to work with other ASEAN members to maintain solidarity, uphold the central role of ASEAN for regional and international issues, and coordinate with each other, and other countries, international organizations in management and the effective use of Mekong River water to ensure the benefits to the nations along the Lower Mekong River.
