PM pays tribute to war invalids, martyrs

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has reiterated that the Party, State and people always remember the sacrifices of war martyrs, as well as the contributions of invalids and those who render great service to the struggle for national independence and freedom.

Mr. Phuc made the remark at a ceremony in the central province of Quang Nam on Monday, commemorating 71 years of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, on July 27.

“These sacrifices have contributed to national reunification, independence, freedom, and socialism building. I hope that martyrs’ relatives will continue to be role models in national construction and defense,” PM Phuc noted.

More than one million Vietnamese soldiers laid down their lives and 800,000 others were wounded during wars against foreign invaders.
