PM recommends solutions to address regional priorities

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the eighth Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS8) Summit which opened in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday.

Addressing the event, the Prime Minister recommended solutions to ensure view consensus with development partners for development and better performance as well as to address regional priorities and issues. He said the ACMECS cooperation strategy should contribute more and become an inseparable part of building the ASEAN Community to boost cooperation in transport, trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, environmental protection, and human resource development.

Earlier on Saturday morning, the Prime Minister participated in the 9th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit (CLMV9). He also received Chairman of ThaiBev, Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, who bought more than 53% stakes of Sabeco or Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation. The Prime Minister praised the deal as the largest in Asia in late 2017 with a value of nearly 5 billion USD on stock market. He said it reflected the government’s efforts to ensure transparency in equitization of State owned enterprises. PM Phuc urged the group to operate successfully in branding and tax payment to state budget for investors’ interests.
