PM talks with Japanese infrastructure, financial firms

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with representatives from Japan’s leading infrastructure and financial enterprises on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 10th Mekong-Japan Summit in Tokyo.

 At a talk on investing in real estate and infrastructure development in Vietnam, Mr. Phuc said the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for Japanese companies interested in the form of public-private partnerships and friendlier financial credit policies for investors.

He urged Japanese firms to invest in real estate and infrastructure, especially social housing for workers and poor people, to plan carefully to optimally use the land fund and advanced technologies and materials for high-quality infrastructure projects.

 During a working session with representatives of Japan’s biggest financial firms, Prime Minister Phuc insisted that the Vietnamese Government consistently promotes economic integration and linkage and devises strong policies to create the best, most equable conditions for businesses.

He called on Japanese firms to become strategic partners in Vietnam’s restructuring of State-owned enterprises, building of enterprises with global competitiveness, participation in transportation infrastructure development and new energy projects, and reforming and modernizing of Vietnam’s banking and financial system.
