PM: Vietnam welcomes Indian investment

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met representatives of several Indian companies while attending the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit in New Delhi on Wednesday. He emphasized the fine relations between Vietnam and India and committed to favorable conditions for Indian investors doing business in Vietnam.

During his meeting with Power Tata CEO Anil Sardana, the Prime Minister called for a long-term investment plan in Vietnam and its Long Phu 2 Thermal Power plant to operate in time without environmental pollution.

In talks with Larsen&Tourbro Group CEO SN Subramanyan, the Prime Minister welcomed its technological transfer in Vietnam and called for its cooperation in opening a ship building factory in the country.

Meeting with India Oil and Gas Corporation General Director Narenda K. Verma, the Prime Minister called for further cooperation in exploration and exploitation as well as downstream processing.

During discussion with Sudheer Pandharpurkar, Chairman of vDoIT, which specializes in e-solutions in education, healthcare and e-government, the Prime Minister expressed interest in projects on new rural areas and smart village models to be expanded to Thai Binh, Dong Thap and Binh Thuan provinces.
