Police in Germany’s Bremen tightens security against Islamic threats

(VOVworld) - Police in the north German city of Bremen have increased their presence to protect the Jewish community from heightened danger from Islamist militants. Police said they searched an Islamic culture centre where several people were detained for identity checks and one person was arrested for his connection with Islamic threats.

In early February, the German government adopted a bill to prevent German residents from fighting in Iraq and Syria and getting involved in training and financing organizations such as the Islamic State.
