The President said that right after his visit to Cuba, the Vietnam-Cuba intergovernmental committee on economic-trade and science-technology cooperation will convene its 34th meeting in Havana to define specific tasks and programs for the near future.

President Quang said the two countries’ leaders have pledged to make it easier for businesses to approach each other’s markets and carry out cooperation projects, in particular, Vietnam’s investment projects in the Mariel Special Economic Development Zone of Cuba.

The two nations agreed to support projects in agriculture, infrastructure building, tourism, and construction materials, said President Quang, adding: “We expect that Vietnamese and Cuban enterprises will encourage creativity, grasp opportunities to tap their economic, trade, and investment cooperation potential, and help each other penetrate the ASEAN, Latin American, and Caribbean markets. The two business communities will contribute to expanding ties and enriching their traditional friendship.”

On Thursday evening, President Quang left Havana, concluding his official visit to Cuba.
