(VOVworld) – President Tran Dai Quang has hailed the achievements the armed forces of Military Zone 2 have made to national security over the past 70 years.

At a ceremony in Phu Tho to mark the 70th anniversary of the zone's armed forces, President Quang said that in the new revolutionary period, the forces need to analyze and anticipate developments in national defense and security and advise the Party and State on proper policies. Mr. Quang said ensuring security, law and order and defending national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity are key tasks of the armed forces.  The President asked the forces to mobilize the public to implement Party and State policies and guidelines, preserve cultural identity, and take an active part in poverty reduction, socio-economic development, and preventing and responding to natural disasters.
