President calls on border guards to uphold core role in safeguarding sovereignty
(VOVWORLD) -President Tran Dai Quang asked border guards to play their core role in safeguarding border and island sovereignty and security during a working session with the Border Guards High Command in Hanoi on Wednesday. The working session took place on the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 28th anniversary of All People’s Defence Festival Day (December 22).

He applauded the achievements and efforts of the border guards over recent years. President Quang underlined the heavy tasks of protecting national independence and territorial integrity in the new situation. He called on the forces to actively consult with Party committees and administrations to rally collective power of the entire political system and people to firmly defend the nation.

President Quang took part in an online exchange with cadres and soldiers of 3 border guard stations: Apa Chai in Dien Bien, Bo Y in Kon Tum, and Hon Chuoi in Ca Mau province.
