President pays pre-Tet visit to coast guards, workers
(VOVWORLD) - President Tran Dai Quang praised the role played by the coast guard force in protecting national sovereignty during a pre-Tet visit to the Coast Guard Zone 3 High Command in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Tuesday.

He asked the High Command to focus on improving the professionalism and combat capacity of the Vietnamese Coast Guard who are the key force in defending sovereignty over the sea, islands, continental shelf, and national interests. President Quang stressed the importance of improving the force’s equipment and facilities.
“The Coast Guard needs to work closely with the navy, border guards, as well as other relevant agencies working at sea and in coastal areas to promptly deal with violations in Vietnam’s sea and continental shelf,” he noted.
President Quang also visited the Army Corps 4 High Command and met workers in Binh Duong province.
