President received new foreign ambassadors

(VOVworld) – President Tran Dai Quang on Wednesday received foreign ambassadors who submitted their credential letters.

In a meeting with New Zealand’s Ambassador, he asked New Zealand to continue supporting Vietnam in its climate change responses, natural disaster management, and maritime law enforcement.

Welcoming Timor Leste’s Ambassador, President Quang said that Vietnam attaches great importance to its partnership with Timor Leste and wishes to further ties both bilaterally and multilaterally.

At a meeting with Cote d’Ivoire’s Ambassador, the President lauded the African country’s cooperation with Vietnam at international forums. He proposed that Cote d’Ivoire create conditions for Vietnam to directly export rice to its market.

Congratulating Rwanda’s Ambassador on his new position, President Quang affirmed that Vietnam highly values the traditional friendship with its African friends, including Rwanda, especially in health care, education and agriculture.
At a reception for the Slovenian Ambassador, President Quang proposed that the two countries step up negotiations for the double taxation avoidance agreement and an agreement on recognising each other’s qualifications and certificates, while asking for Slovenia’s contributions to EU recognition of Vietnam’s market economy.
