(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang on Tuesday received Norway’s outgoing ambassador to Vietnam Stale Risa. President Truong Tan Sang said Vietnam always highly valued cooperation with Norway. He hoped that cooperation between the two countries would continue to prosper in renewal energy, climate change adaptation, telecommunication, and marine transportation. He invited the King and Queen of Norway to visit Vietnam and wished the ambassador success in his new position.

The Norwegian ambassador said he supported the boosting of cooperation between the two countries and between ASEAN and the EU.

Norway was one of the first European countries to support Vietnam’s market economy status and the early signing of a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the EU.
